Leisure is a lost art, and the 742R noses forward to help you rediscover it. With a naturally lit bow cuddy and agile performance, the 742R makes relaxation second nature. Configurable seating pleases every passenger, with a folding aft sunlounge and a copilot seat that extends to form a meridienne/chaise lounge. Plus, the large, self-bailing cockpit is a prime socializing zone. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to get serious about leisure.

from bates wharf
This week’s “BW Pick” comes from Kelly at our Chertsey head office. Kelly’s main role is managing the parts department for all our brands so she knows these boats inside out in a different way to the sales staff. In her own words:
Hello! My name is Kelly and I work from the head office in Chertsey running the parts department. My top new boat at the moment is without doubt the Bayliner 742R and here’s why…
Teak platform & cockpit
Having teak throughout really makes the boat feel so luxurious, it really makes the boat feel special. The caulking follows the hull lines too!
swim platform panel
The look-through areas of the swim platform are great for keeping an eye on the propeller when needed (and stationary!!). You also have the ski tow eye for your watersport requirements!
AFT LOUNGER
The aft lounger on the 742R is so versatile. Flip up completely for a transom walk through with no stepping on any cushions. Lay it flat with the infills for a large L shaped seating area. Sunbathe on the aft. Or pull the seat up into the lounger position and lounge away! My favourite is below.
cockpit wet bar
Whether you fancy something quick to eat, washing up, cold drinks or easy access to your battery switches, I love how convenient the wet bar is. The sink even has a lid so you can use it as workspace as required!
versatile seating
The pictures say a thousand words…with a moving back rest you can face forward, aft – which is great for watersports if you need a spotter, or flat as the helm console has a padded backrest to use the whole cockpit.
easy MANOEUVRABILITY
With a bow thruster, the Bayliner 742R is so easy to move! The GPS package helps too – track your journeys and plan adventures. Side mounted engine controls are in the perfect place for easy handling. Gauges are easy and clear to see. Overall, a really easy to read and use dash panel.
helm seat & steering
When you are coming in and out of a mooring, or at speed, it can be much easier to manoeuvre the boat while standing. Simply flip the bolster up and you can adjust the steering to match with a simply push of the button underneath the wheel!
sunbathing
If the aft cockpit bench seat isn’t enough, the bow sunbathing area is a great way to catch some rays.
FACILITIES!
Concealed in the cabin (hidden neatly underneath the cockpit floor) is a toilet. For convenience, comfort and well, convenience, the Bayliner 742R is suitable for all the family!
With the wet bar, toilet facilities, complete canvas package, double berth, flexible seating, teak cockpit, teak table, bowthruster, gps…the list goes on! the bayliner 742r is my top pick.
